Empowering young women to have brighter futures
The Rise Scholar program is a comprehensive six-year program designed to shape future change-makers.
The Program aims to empower young women to overcome the barriers that often prevent underprivileged children from succeeding in school and pursuing higher education. Overwhelmed public school systems, coupled with children lacking time, resources, support, and a limited belief in the value of education, often prevent children from reaching their full potential.
Through a carefully constructed six-year program, we provide academic, character development, financial, and social support where it's needed most to enable our RISE scholars to succeed in their education and contribute positively to their communities.
Currently, our future scholars are on a trajectory defined by the limitations of circumstance. RISE Scholars is an opportunity for total direction change.
RISE should alter the course of their lives.

Our Vision
Many young women are currently on a trajectory defined by the limitations of circumstance. RISE is an opportunity for total direction change and should alter the course of their lives.
By giving Scholars the tools and support they need to meet their potential, RISE will empower students to succeed and go on to shape better futures for themselves and their communities.
Success Indicators
The success of the RISE Scholar Program will be measured by all scholars obtaining scholarship entry to higher education and demonstrating strong character values and a commitment to serving others. We will know our program has worked if our Scholars get to university on scholarships and go on to make the world a better place.
We intend to deliver a pilot of the RISE Scholar Program to demonstrate the impact additional support can have on a child's future and eventually replicate the program on a larger scale.
Key Elements
Academic support to develop high achievers who are passionate and motivated to succeed.
A needs-based academic curriculum to meet students where they are and provide personalized support. The academic program should culminate in the Scholar receiving an academic scholarship to University.
Character Development to foster resilient, kind,
community-oriented Scholars.
A character development curriculum that enables Scholars to become globally-minded individuals who are motivated to act locally and improve their communities. Character development opportunities should be weaved into all aspects of the RISE Scholar program such as through opportunities to tutor students in other Sun Crew education Programs.
Bridging the gap between school and home life.
Community outreach programs to maintain trust
and reputation of the program.
Create strong relationships and support networks for students, so they do not feel alienated from their families and communities.
In turn, create opportunities for parents and communities to feel engaged and empowered by the program such as through adult literacy programs, and free tutoring programs delivered by RISE Scholars.
Working hand-in-hand with the Department of Education and the local education community.
Foster strong partnerships with DepED and community education professionals to support the longevity and legitimacy of the program. RISE Scholars should be recognised as a legitimate channel for student success (similar to ALS) and have the full support of the Department of Education and the education community within the municipality where we work.
How you can help
It only costs PHP 4,500 per month to sponsor a RISE Scholar.
This covers the cost of academic tutoring, lunch, transportation, excursions, tuition fees and medical expenses.
